Lately, I've been waking up at 4:30 a.m. with an intense feeling of anxiety. I want to accomplish a lot in life, but I'm not sure what direction to take. I'm struggling to balance my desire for a clean and organized life, well-behaved children, and building a career as an influencer. I can't imagine working in an office, so becoming an influencer seems like the best option for me. Additionally, I want to have a closer relationship with God, but the overwhelming feeling of my business loss has taken over, and I don't know what to do next. I'm looking for ways to turn this lonely and dark feeling into intentional planning and transformative habits that can turn my aimless mornings into purposeful beginnings.
Crafting a Vision for Your Mornings: Starting your day without a goal or plan can leave you feeling lost and unsure. To avoid this, envision the type of morning and day you want to have. Having a clear vision of what you want will guide your actions. For example, you may want to start your day with a clean and organized space. For me, it might include adding a Bible study and workout to my morning routine alongside my coffee.
Breaking Down Big Goals into Manageable Tasks: The desire to maintain a clean house, do laundry, and declutter can seem overwhelming without a plan. To make it manageable, break these larger goals into smaller tasks. Create a daily or weekly to-do list to systematically work towards achieving them. Although it may sound great when reading about it, it could actually help break up the monotony of everyday life.
Fostering Positive Behavior in Children: I understand that managing a house with four children, whose ages range from 5 to 12, can be quite challenging. Additionally, we usually have two extra children at any given time, which makes it even more difficult to maintain order. The kids often fight and scream, and their hormones are starting to kick in, leading to chaos and mess. However, guiding children to behave appropriately requires consistency and positive reinforcement. You can establish routines, communicate expectations, and involve them in the process of maintaining a tidy home. Creating a structured and supportive environment can lead to positive behavior. And maybe a glass or two of wine.
Turning Influencer Dreams into Reality: I am currently struggling with my identity since I no longer have my boutique. When I had it, I felt like myself - Brandy, not just Brian's wife or Addie's mom. I enjoyed making women feel beautiful by picking out clothes and interacting with them. However, working for another boutique made me feel depressed as it reminded me of everything that I did wrong. Although people suggest that I take a break and figure out my next step, it's difficult for me as I'm a Type A control freak.
Recently, Facebook sent me $5.00 for the live videos I had done, and I realized I could make money by doing styling videos and giving product recommendations. I could earn by promoting products I use and love on Amazon. But, monetizing my influence requires strategic planning. I need to identify my niche, build a personal brand, and engage authentically with my audience. Consistent effort and dedication will pave the way for success in the competitive world of influencer marketing.
However, fear takes over me. Do people really care about my opinion? Can I really do this? Do I have the energy to start over? Am I too old and overweight to do this? I don't have the extra money to do my nails, lashes, and Botox all of the time.
Cultivating a Sense of Purpose: Loneliness and disorganization are often caused by a lack of purpose in life. If you're in this situation, it's important to identify your values and passions. Try to connect with like-minded people, whether through in-person interactions or online communities. Building relationships and finding a sense of purpose can help alleviate feelings of isolation and disarray. This is going to be my goal for 2024.
Creating a Structured Morning Routine: I don't know about you all, but I'm exhausted. Even with Xanax, I can't seem to fall asleep before 1:00 am and I'm up again at 4:30 am. On weekends and school breaks, I don't stick to a routine because I know my kids will throw it off, or maybe I'm just making excuses. During the school year, I wake up before the kids and make coffee before waking them up for school. Unfortunately, my 12-year-old and 8-year-old alternate setting the tone for the house in the mornings due to hormones. However, I think it's important for my kids to be independent, so each one knows how to fix their own breakfast (yes, even the 5-year-old makes her own oatmeal). I walk around the house in my robe, making sure everyone has fixed their hair, packed their cheer bag, brushed their teeth, and has matching shoes. Since I've been home, I haven't bothered getting properly dressed or putting on makeup, which may be part of the problem. There's something to be said for getting up and getting ready, though. A structured routine can transform aimless mornings into productive ones. Allocate time for self-care, household tasks, and work on your influencer endeavors. A well-thought-out routine brings order to chaos and instills a sense of accomplishment.
Embracing Flexibility and Self-Compassion: While structure is essential, life is inherently unpredictable. Be flexible and practice self-compassion. Understand that not every day will go as planned, and that's okay. Adjustments and learning from setbacks are integral parts of personal growth.
This blog post is a reminder that you have the power to shape your mornings with intention and purpose. While it may be difficult to get enough sleep and avoid distractions like YouTube at night, doing so can make waking up at 5:30 a.m. instead of 4:30 a.m. easier. By visualizing your goals, breaking them down into actionable steps, fostering positive habits, and pursuing your dreams, you can turn your mornings into a meaningful and fulfilling journey. Remember to be kind to yourself, celebrate every small victory, and embrace the process. You can even print this blog post and put it on your fridge to read every morning as a source of inspiration.
